popped my bubble

My super-happy-bubble popped at the beginning of the week when not only did I discover that one of my oldest and dearest bloggy friends is going through something truly horrid (I cried and cried for her), I also learnt that my great day job is soon to be no more. I haven't had to look for work in aaaages and I'm a little bit frightened and kinda sad.

But today I found out a friend did something amazing for me when I was away honeymooning. Not sure if it will eventuate to anything yet, but just the act was enough to cheer me right back up again.

Still dying to see some wedding snaps... I'm not holding out on you, we just don't have them yet.

In the meantime I can tell you that seeing a ring on Mr You's finger is pretty much the sexiest thing ever. Not something I would have expected, but each time I catch a glimpse I get all giddy like.

weeeeeeeee

Swinging

Weeeeeeeee be married now!

Thank-you all so much for all your lovely comments and emails, it's been such a thrill reading them all.

We had an absolute ball. I don't even know where to start...

We just got back from our amazing honeymoon a day or so ago, and have been easing ourselves back in slowly. Both still beaming and buzzing. It's been a total thrill!

Hopefully we'll get our wedding photo's back soonish, and I'll be able to show you each detail, and tell you all about each part; painting you a picture of the scene as a whole.

(This great photo was taken by our dear friend, she took heaps of great shots of the party late into the night. Hooray!)

Cake Us

(Please not this was a previously scheduled post. I'm not addicted to the internet so much that I would sneak away from our wedding to post. No I'm off outside having the time of my life!)

departing

Let No Man Put Asunder

How pretty is this? I originally wanted this to be our invitation, but a change the words along the top to something a bit funny and quirky.

Anyway, I'm letting myself be distracted.

Leaving now. See you! :D

wedding creations

I've spent various evenings infront of the TV over the past few months, muttering repeatedly to myself "How do birds do this? WITHOUT ARMS?!!"

Why, you ask? Because I've been making a nest...

Ring Nest

It's to hold our wedding rings instead of a ring pillow. I've made it from twigs and stuff entirely from our garden... Something to represent our home during the ceremony.

Anyway, it's finished and I am really proud of it.

And well... I still am, but last night it was out-prouded by Mr You's tie.

I finished embellishing* Mr You's tie, and it turned out SO well! We both love it, and I think it may very well be my life's masterpiece. hehehe ;)

I can't show you yet, because that may ruin the surprise. But I'll make sure we get photo's to show you afterwards.

* Note: Mr You asked me to embellish his tie. I haven't just turned into a crazed bride to be, bedazzling anything that stays still long enough.

_ _ _

Today is my last day here. I have yet another small list to get through (what would I do without lists), have bags to pack, another carload to fill, and tomorrow morning we're off to Mr You's parents house for the rest of the week. I'm SO relieved to see the rain has just cleared, and hoping this sun stays until after the weekend.

I am seriously excited!!! Excited and also feeling remarkably calm right now. I've finished all my craft tasks, I have a few small things to finish which I can do once I'm there (like making playlists of party music. Any requests?). But right now it all feels manageable and under control. The plan is to keep working through the lists for the next few days, and rest up because we're going to have a very big few days before the wedding setting it all up. I'll need my strength. Plus all our friends are on their way from far off places, and we're dying to see them all.

So, if you will, send good weather vibes our way for Saturday :D And we'll take it from there...
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!! SO exciting.

I may or may not have a chance to post before or after the wedding, but Chunky Chooky will be in attendance, so feel free to pester her for a debrief ;)

Oh, and we'll be honeymooning, of course. Vanuatu is the place. Relaxing is our aim.

See you on the flip side :D

the earrings

You know how I mentioned that during this lead up to our wedding I haven't been able to just buy things ready-made?... How I've had to handmake, remake, or tweak?... Well the same thing happened with my earrings.

I was searching for aaaages for something with that Wiess vintage rhinestone feel. Most were clip on studs, or just too big. I wanted something small.

So... I bought pieces off Etsy....

Earring Pieces

Originally I bought the earrings in the middle and took them to a jeweller to see if they could turn them from clip-ons into studs for me. They quoted me $200!!!!! CHOKE!

So I did what (I've now learnt) I do best. I bought more bits and pieces (all up was $15), then took the bits to the jeweller who put them all together for me for only $30.

Earrings FinishedAnd they're great!

Small, inexpensive, vintage, customised and entirely unique.

Just the way I like it. :)

P.S. Incidentally, this time next week, we will be married!!!!! :D
