sweet elephant

Elephant TeapotThis is: something I got, but still haven't used.

This is the first and only teapot I've ever had. I bought it for myself for Christmas (hehehe), he came with two little cups which both have feet. I think it's adorable, however, I still haven't used him. My excuse is that I don't have any friends I can invite around for tea yet. I suppose I could use him for myself, and I probably should, but a teabag in a mug is just much quicker and more convenient I guess.

We have had our friends from Sydney come to visit, but I completely forgot to use him then too, (I was most likely too pre-occupied making jugs of icy sangria). He was still all packed up in his original box, tucked away in the cupboard, so I kept forgetting about him altogether. But last weekend I had a frenzied house re-decorating spree, I dug him out and now, despite still having never been used to serve tea, at least he has found some sort of use: to beautify the shelf in our dining room!
Elephant On ShelfHopefully having him there everyday will remind me to use him next time I get the chance.

p.s. I'm so glad so many of you liked the topic :) I'm off to check out all your posts now!

He is a lovely teapot, looks great on display. It is hard to make lots of use of a teapot in this teabag age!

That is the coolest looking teapot! My favourite teapot is my mum's Moroccan one - it's so intricate and beautiful.

ooh he is so cute! I have three teapots which I never use but they are displayed on my kitchen window sill. I love their different shapes (but don't have any animal-shaped ones yet! hmm....)

I think icy sangria served from an white elephant teapot is rather grand if not a little left field myself!!

That elephant teapot is absolutely adorable! He looks gorgeous on the shelf but I think he would also make some delicious tea....I think you should host a little tea party.

That teapot is so cute! And the teacups with feet, how adorable. I think you need to plan yourself a little tea party, one with decorated cupcakes sounds perfect to me (sorry, just saw that curlypops already suggested the tea party - well it's good to see that more than one of us thinks so) ;)

Isn't he lovely! Doesn't matter that you haven't made tea with him yet as he does look very cute up on the shelf!

I had to laugh at three buttons' comment, I was also going to suggest sangria served in the elephant. :)
He's very cute and looks lovely on the shelf.

Thanks for choosing such a fabulous topic, you helped me to remember a stashed away treasure!

This is incredible! We were at World Market a month ago and I saw this exact same teapot set, and I tried so hard to explain to Scott why I HAD to have it and he didn't go for it. Now I can show him your blog and give him guilt!!!

I love it! You know, I have a Japanese tea set that I had been wanting for years. Finally my mother gave it to me for Christmas a couple years ago...I have never used it either.

Your elephant teapot is gorgeous. A pot of tea always tastes better than just a cup with a teabag... it must be the whole "tea" experience. And I love going back for my 2nd cuppa and its already brewed. You will have to spoil yourself and take some time out and use it.
