I've been preparing a couple of new works to go in a gallery nearby. I'm really excited about it as this is a completely new gallery for me. I don't really know how my work will go there, but I'm putting in 4 completely different works as a bit of a litmus test.
This new painting is part of my hidden birds series. Although I've strayed from the native plants here, I'm still documenting new discoveries from within my yard; in this case mulberries and the figbirds that eat them.
When I dropped it in to be framed today the lady asked me what the title was. I'm not sure yet, so I told her "Mulberry". She thought the girl is too pretty to be called Mulberry, so now I'm trying to think what I should title it. Any ideas?
I usually work from a title backwards, but this one was the other way around, so I'm a bit stuck. I kind of like succinct titles with a positive slant, eg. my others were called things like "Aspire", "Curiosity", "Honour" etc. What do you think?

Such a beautiful piece Flossy-P! Really beautiful.
I like the name Mulberry. I actually like the name: Figbird and Mulberries too.. I think either is a winner.
So gorgeous. I rather like the title Mulberry and thing it's a pretty name.

I like something maybe like
"nourish" or "nuture" or "thrive"

something about giving nourishment to this beautiful bird...ahhhh its too late in the night for me sorry hahahaa
its beautiful though you are amazingly talented :)
It's beautiful...I really like Mulberry too. How about adding to the name to make it more girlie...such as Mulberry Dreaming.
She is lovely. How bout putting sweet in the title. 'sweet mulberry'
I absolutely love this piece. I think she should be called Sage.
My idea is very similar to CurlyPops.I like "Mulberry Dreams" or "To Dream..." Love the painting, i can just picture it on my wall!
As usual, I love all of your work and this is not an exception to that love.
Beautiful.

What about Summer. A nice name for the girl and a nod to the season we eat mulberries in. It is a beautiful piece.
WOW! She is soooo pretty. You are truly gifted. As for the name, I'm going to look at the painting again, when the TV (next to me) isn't blaring out at me. It's crowding my mind =). I'm going to come back with a name. Absolutely beautiful.
She's gorgeous!
that's very interesting you work from the title back. mine are usually the opposite! nifty!
I don't have a name suggestion, just wanted to say its beautiful!
Beautiful! I love the berry stain around her eyes.
i think she looks like an optimism.
i hope the new gallery goes well for you.
xx
wow! beautiful!!! love your style and the way you watercolour...congrats on the local gallery too!
not so good with names but 'Nuture' comes to mind
Ok, I got one! How about Harmony? When I look at the painting, everything is working together in perfect harmony, from the bird eating the mulberry, which is a part of the woman, to the colors and the circular motion in the painting. It feels very peaceful and harmonous to me.
Really, whatever you name the piece will be perfect =)
I am continually blown away by how beautiful your art is. This is amazing. I love the mulberry juice splashing out from the frame and the same colour on her cheeks and lips. I love how the bird's wings form the same shape and colour of the leaves. I love the tresses of her hair and your delicate flowing linework. really beautiful.
I like 'nuture' and 'nourish' for a title and also keep thinking of 'share' even though that's maybe a bit chee-zee...
Good morning Ms. Flossy-P, check out my blog as you have been awarded an award. hee hee xoxox
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! I think she should be called "PurPle"
Wow, this is just gorgeous. Love the bright red across the figbird's eye...
My suggestion, for what it's worth, would be 'Encircled Serenity'...but I do also like the word mulberry :)
a beautiful drawing! it really captures a springtime or summer feeling :)
