a collection of strings

EyeSpySunday_Bttn"eye-spy a collection".

I have shown you all my collections before. The blue painted porcelain, the village store tins, and the vintage glass collection. So this time I thought I'd share another collection that lives with us...

Mr You has a couple of collections going, one being interesting instruments. It's fairly newish, and he's discerning, so our house isn't filled with bits of broken stuff that isn't playable. I think one day when we have a house of our own, he'd like a whole wall where he can display them all. They're mostly string instruments, but there's a couple of odd Asian wind instruments now too. There's the obligatory guitars of a few varieties, a mandolin, a banjo...

Then last year his Dad found a type of Italian mandolin that we think is about 100 years old. He recently had it restored, and it's beautiful.

At Christmas I bought him an Appalachian Dulcimer (as a combined Christmas/engagement gift). He loves it! It's so beautiful just as an object in itself, with it's heart shaped holes. But it has a really lovely sound too. To play it you lay it across your lap facing up, and either hammer or slide the strings. It's WAY cool.

Dulcimer

I think next he might have his eye on an Indian sitar next. :)

This weeks theme from Liesl of Hoppo Bumbo.

(p.s. GOSH a whole week slipped by between posts then. Where did that week go?)

last fm

LastFMProfileA couple of weeks back I joined up to a last.fm. It's a music network site, and it's pretty awesome. I was so happy to finally be assigned neighbours (or people with similar music taste to me), it took a while and I was starting to get worried, but now I have neighbours and feel much better.

Although...

Other than this bloggy thing, I'm really a networking newbie. I never myspaced, and I intentionally avoided facebook like the plague, but this has left me with very poor networking knowledge. Now I have neighbours, what do I do with them? Can I add complete strangers as friends? (Thankfully I have one great friend who amply makes up for there being only 1 in that department). Anyway, I have a profile, not sure what to do next, but it's there.

So if you're so inclined stop by and visit me, friend me, or start a profile of your own. Or even better, if you're a last.fm veteran, tell me what I should be doing?

a single line

I can't believe I didn't take my camera to the Modest Mouse gig last night . I don't usually take it to gigs because for most of the time my view is usually the back of someone’s sweaty neck, or a very intimate elbow experience. But last night I had the best photo taking position and was regretting not bringing my camera all night, especially each time they all picked up a totally new instrument to play. However, this did leave me free to enjoy the music.

At first there was a bass player, a guitarist, the lead singer/2nd guitar, a guy on keyboards and two drummers on different kits playing in unison. Then the rest of the night it was like watching a game of musical chairs but with instruments; there were endless guitar changes and swaps, a trumpet, a double bass, bongos, banjo, piano accordion, and one of those thingies where you blow into a tube which is attached to a mini keyboard. It was great!

(wouldn't a photo slot in so well right here?)

Anyway, one of my favourite song lines is from a Modest Mouse song:
"My thoughts are so loud I can't hear my mouth"

I've always been impressed by great song lyrics, but I especially love when a single line captures a mountain worth of meaning (or humour).

Some of my favourites (that I can think of right now) are:
"Judge the miracle by feel not size" - Badly Drawn Boy

"Winter weather is not my soul" - Smog

"I had to yell just to get my voice back" - Smog

"If I could f#*k a mountain, Lord I would f#*k a mountain" - Palace (this makes me laugh every time)

"I am not Jesus, but I have the same initials" - Pulp

and my favourite at the moment is:
"Well I guess everybody has their own thing that they yell into a well. I gave it a couple of hoots, a hello, and a fuckallyall" - Smog

Lyrics by Bright Eyes always floor me, I could never pick out a single line.
Do you have any favourites? What are they?

last night

Yeah Yeah Ticket
WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I’ve never seen them before, and I was BA-Lowen away. She was dressed in a circus leotard with ribbons hanging off, a pair of black stockings with the inner thighs cut out, one sparkly fingerless glove and a strange little brimless cap. Even her mic cord was tizzed up. She strutted and bounded around the stage with insurmountable energy, stopping in rock-poses that only she and Iggy Pop can pull off. Kicking off in a BIG way with Gold Lion and then Honeybear, she almost had trouble calming back down from Phenomena into Cheated Hearts, bursting into a giggle at one point when she almost raced ahead of the beat. Once she got into the slower songs she was poised and solitary.

I’d heard reports of her in previous times being surly, hiding behind her long fringe and clasping a bottle of champagne on stage - overdoing the cliché’d rock chick thing. But last night she was unique; giggling and smiling throughout the whole gig. She looked like she was having an absolute ball and was so much fun to watch, plus there’s nothing sexier than someone who clearly loves what they do (and don’t have too much of an ego to show it).

Her voice and band’s playing also surpassed expectations, but the band, in a still, humble manner left the showmanship to Karen. After all, if you were in a band and she showed up to join, you’d know life was about to change in a big way.

The whole thing was so great and so much better than I expected. I’m beaming!

(I forgot to take a camera, but as soon as I locate some shots, I'll be sure to let you know)
(Oh, and you'll be glad to hear Elton John has officially and thankfully been blown right out of my head)

change the tune

I can NOT get that annoying Elton John song out of my head. It's driving me mad! For days I've been singing "It's no saac-a-ree-fi-i-i-ice a-a-at all" but wait, then I launch into "doo do doo doo..." Driving me c-ra-a-a-a-zy!

My singing or humming it is also starting to drive Mr You crazy. This morning he counter attacked me with an equally sticky song, one that was bound to shock me enough to stop. (I think he was following the tip of frightening someone with hiccups).

So as I ramped up to the chorus "Well it's no saac-a-ree-"
He interrupted with "Don't want no short dick man"!!!!

'Nuf said.

new tunes

Grates TracklistSo desperate for new music at the moment, yesterday I went and bought 2 new CDs and tickets to a concert. One of the CD purchases was because I like the band (Howling Bells), and the other was purely in aid of the cool illustrated tracklist and even better cut-out cover sleeve. To tell you the truth, I haven't even listened to this one yet, (Gravity Won't Get You High, by The Grates) and am not even sure I like their music, but the cover, seriously, I think it was worth it just for that!

Both CDs have excellent illustrated cover art, a very nice shift from the stock-standard photography covers you're usually fed.

The Howling Bells Illustrated by Mikko Rantanen.
The Grates credit their artwork as being their own.

robot

Robot
My Illustration Friday attempt for "robot".

When I’m stuck on a topic, really stumped for ideas, I ask Mr You for suggestions. This week his robot suggestions included both,
- an arse rowing a boat = row-butt
- and a baby’s bottle filled with fish eggs = roe-bot

As interesting as those ideas are, now seems as good a time as any to reveal the blueprint for my concept robot fish. Don’t ask me why.

We both thought an illustration of Shakira’s awesome robot dance / bellydance combination from her new video clip (the one that goes”Shakira! Shakira! Oh Oh My hips don’t lie”) would be hard to beat. But quite frankly, I’m not sure I’d be able to do that special dance justice.

We love Shakira! We love her in that way that you love a reality TV show that is sooooo bad it crosses from terrible to brilliant. The first time I fell in love with Shakira was while watching her dance in the “Whenever, Where ever” video clip. I loved that soooo much that each time it came on the telly I mimicked all those special moves, and can now perform them on request… should the day ever come. (fact!)

Don’t get me wrong, I think she is beautiful and has the most delicious figure. I prey each night that she is actually making up those songs and dance moves in a cheeky tongue-in-cheek manor. If that was the case, I think she and I could be best friends til we die.

Shakira! Shakira! Shakira!

flame trees

Flame Trees
My Illustration Friday attempt for "song".

I’ve been so busy, working through a hellishly busy time at work, trying to make bags, restoring a piece of furniture, doing yoga, keeping in touch with friends, drawing, attempting to do my income tax, spending time with Mr You, having various tests at the doctor, and sleeping and eating somewhere in there too. This week, in an effort to buy myself some much needed time, I have “consolidated” two of those things. My illustration this week is combined with, and has inspired one of the bags I’m making.

This sewn illustration is based on a cover version of the old Cold Chisel song “Flame Trees” re-rendered so beautifully by Sarah Blasko. The song had always had bad connotations for me of really drunk boys at partys sucking the beer out of the end of a keg, barely able to stand, arms around each other wailing away to the lyrics of this song.
It’s always messy and never nice. (Actually made me dispise all Cold Chisel music for a long time).

Thankfully, Sarah Blasko has rescued this beautiful song for me. Originally written about Grafton, a country town up North who’s only real claim to fame is its annual Jacaranda festival. These giant trees bloom every spring with intense purple flowers, and their red counterparts, the ‘flame trees’ do the same, lining the streets and blanketing the ground in rich vivid colours.

“The flame trees will blind the weary driver
And there's nothing else could set fire to this town”

It’s not exactly a bag as such yet, but next week it will be. If anyone is interested I’m thinking of putting it on eBay.

smitten and spill

SmittenAndSpill Oh Geeez. I must seem so ungrateful. Miss May sent me these TWO great CD's, Smitten and Spill, days ago and I haven't even displayed them yet. Getting new music is rockin' my world, especially when it's stuff like this that totally "tickles my fancy". The photo's don't do it justice, but the covers are hand painted pieces of art!

Thanks Miss May, I love them both, but I think today Smitten is my favourite. I was really surprised to find Bumblebeez on Spill, they are a relatively unknown local band from around my parts. It amazes me how some music travels and some doesn't, I can never pick it either.

It's funny, I made my mixed CDs with lots of local music on it to spread it far and wide across the seas, and I got an email back from Vanessa in NC USA telling me about a few of her favourite Australian bands, and she totally GAZUMPED me! I had to "google" them! But sure enough there were two bands from Melbourne I'd never heard of, that have Vanessa as one of their fans. I'll have to check them out next time they're in town.

not a love song

Cornelians CDIt may not be a love song but this didn't stop me falling in love with this awsome package from the rockin'est Cornelian Cherry.

Not only did I get a copy of her brilliant 'CD Swap 2' CD complete with stunning cover design, I also got 2 bonus CD's, each packed with really really good music (that's been making me very happy).
And not only did I get CD's but I also got sweet stickers!
And an adorable envelope!
And the most perfect quilt impersonating card with a lovely embossed padding effect! (I love the card).

It's all soooo much more than I expected and put me in a hyper-grateful mood for the rest of the week. Thank-you so much Allison. (I'll comment more on the actual music when I've had a couple more listens, but so far I'm really liking all of it, especially 'Cursive').

I actually have been thinking all quilty lately, and have had a pile of fabric and wadding waiting patiently for me to start sewing for about 3 weeks now. I just need to get this other little project I'm working on out of the way first (expect a sneak-peak when I'm done). At least I know I'll have loads of excellent tunes to keep me sew-happy. (heh heh, sorry, bad pun).

See how chirpy I am? And now it's a long weekend! Bring it on.

jen's summer jams

After having listened to the Summer Jams 2k5 CD from Jen about 5 times already, I've come to some conclusions: I really like it, and it does achieve a very Summery feel very well. After listening to it I regretted toning my CD down though, (i thought it'd be a bit too heavy for people - pfff, what was I thinking?). Mr You will say "I told you so".

Anyhow, there are some bands I've heard of on here, some I've never really listened to, and there are also lots of newbies for me.

Of the one's I've never heard, I really like:
Holland, 1945 by Neutral Milk Hotel
Twin cinema by The New Pornographers
Monkey by Low

I've heard so many people mention Iron & Wine, mutterings about town and such, so I'm glad to own a track of theirs now. Maybe I'll seem like I'm "in the know" next time.

Oh, how the lyrics in "Leave the biker by Fountains of Wayne" did make me laugh so: "crumbs in his beard from the seafood special". It reminds me a little bit of Butterfingers, an Australian band with cheeky lyrics - "Your Mama's on the top of my things to do list" for example.

The vocals on the Moping Swans track reminds me alot of another Australian band Youth Group (touring your United States at the moment).

My very favourite song on the CD is "99 and a half won't do by The Detroit Cobras". It makes me wanna skip out on work, jump in the back of a ute with a guitar and a faithful dog (niether of which I have), and drive up the coast to a happy care-free life, with this playing magically in the air as my theme song (like an ad on tv).

But having said that my absolute even more bestest most favourite is "Oualahila ar tesninam by Tinariwen": Like a modern version of the Bollywood track on the Ghost World soundtrack. Makes me wanna spin jump and twirl all Bollywood style around the house!

Hooray for such a happy fun Summer CD! Thanks again Jen (I'm honoured to be one of the lucky 26 finalists).

(I've been without our digital camera this week, so if you want to see the very slick cover click here.)

version 2

Trans One-bYesterday I posted out another batch of my CD's. This time they are going to Jen the creator, Shenandoah, Miss May, Erin the Knitterista, and on Monday I'll be popping one in the post for Allison.

I'm not sure if it's considered cheating or not, but I've modified my mix slightly, this one is called Transmittance One-b. I've taken some of Kristi's comments about my initial mix into consideration, and have also added numbers on the tracklist itself. The original list was a bit too heavy, so I've replaced a couple of the heavy tracks with ones that are a little more "friendly". I also switched a few tracks from the listed bands to give a better representation of what they normally sound like.

The new tracks are:
Godhopping - Dogs Dies in Hot Cars: These guys are Scottish and generally quite upbeat.
Special Ones - George: This Australian band became quite popular in a very short space of time, but have now parted. I just read this week that she is about to release her first solo album. If you are like me and don't dare ever sing in public, but secretly, when driving around in the car with all the windows tightly shut, you belt out a song or two (or desperately attempt to in my case)... Then boy, is this one for you!

The switched tracks are:
Car Crash - Eskimo Joe: The original mix had Wake Up, but I've switched it with this one as it's far less heavy, and is a much better example of that sexy breaking point in his voice that I mentioned earlier.
Land Locked Blues - Bright Eyes: This one replaced Light Pollution. Light Pollution is quite a peppy track, and it's great! But it's rare for Bright Eyes; usually his songs are a little melancholy shall we say. I thought this one was somewhere in between, and it's a little bit folky (for Jen. But there's no banjo, so don't get excited).

So that's okay isn't it? Not completely different, just refined slightly. Anyway, I hope the CD lives up to the expectations of the innocent listening bystanders I've over-enthusiastically forced it upon. heeee.

cd number 4

Summer SmashesYesterday I received my 4th CD from CD Swap 2. Technically it was actually the 4th and 5th CD's as in this batch I was awarded with a "bonus CD"!

It's all a little mysterious though. As I pulled the package out of the letterbox, I squeeled "It's from France!". Two CD's and a little note, but I have absolutely no idea who sent it. There was a street address, but no name. To intrigue me even more, the CD's are filled with Australian music (the bonus one is exclusively Aussie music). I've worked out from my sophisticated powers of deduction that this mystery sender must be an Australian serving in the top secret French Foreign Legion; the "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie. Oi, Oi, Oi" war cry gave it away.

The "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie. Oi, Oi, Oi war cry?" I hear you ask... Yes, well this is something only Australians, and English Bus Tour Guide's seem to know about. It's mainly used at sporting events. The New Zealanders have the amazing, historical, culturally significant Haka. We Aussies prefer to yell out "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie. Oi, Oi, Oi". Please don't ask me why.

"And the English Bus Tour Guide's" I hear you enquire... Mr You and I were in London last year, and unfortunately boarded a bus tour the day after the English rugby team beat Australia in a match. When "Big Bus Alan" discovered we were Australian, with a spark of gloat in his eye, he cried out "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!". Mr You and I, embarrassedly but politely chuckled and muttered "yeah". This was not enough for him, and louder this time (so the whole coach of tourists from other countries were staring at us) he demanded "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Come On. You know it!" And paused, waiting for our reply. Our eyes darted from side to side at all the people looking at us with great anticipation, and sheepishly we retorted a quiet "Oi, Oi, Oi".

The tourists, obviously expecting some Banjo Patterson prose, were disappointed, and a little confused. Big Bus Alan was deeeelighted, "Yeeeees" he sneered, "Oi Oi Oi".

Yes! Okay! We have the war cry thing, and the Crocodile Hunter, and Russell Crow, and we're very very sorry! But luckily we have very good music, and we can swim fast.

So, thank-you kindly to my mysterious French Foreign Legion ex-patriot, for the 2 CD's. I hope you're enjoying that fabulous French lifestyle, and all that comes with it, (but only on the weekends, when you have some reckie time from the Legion, cause you don't want to run out on those guys. Trust me, I saw a documentary).

another batch

I'm making a few more CD's to post out in the next day or two. Does anyone else want one?

drive.oh.five

DriveohFiveA quick update on the CD from Anna at Clicktyclick in Canada, now that I've listened to it (actually I haven't stopped).

As Anna put it, "trucks and pink gingham together at last"!
A road trip CD with a homely twist. The packaging is gorgeous, I especially like the plain gingham CD lable, no words needed to do this classic fabric justice.

DriveohFive_tracklistThis is a fabulous tracklist, packed to the brim with Canadian bands. I was curious when I made my CDs about which Australian bands people had heard of before. So, the bands I know are: Broken Social Scene, The Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Wilco and Palace Music.

This is my kind of music, we even had a "snap" on one song that made it to both of our CDs. There's loads of stuff on here I haven't heard of before. I really like the Death Cab for Cutie track and I love the Mirah song too.

The Weakerthans track 'One Great City!' made me laugh, as I once met a boy from Winnipeg (who was working at a youth hostel in Rome at the time), who pretty much quoted this song. "I hate Winniepeg". I'm sure it's not that bad, although it does sound unbelievably cold.

Anyway, thanks Anna. I'm really liking this one alot.

trucks and pink gingham

Just when I'd nearly given up, a new CD arrived! This one is all the way from Anna at Clicktyclick in Canada.

Only just got it, so I haven't listened to it yet, but I'm REALLY excited as the tracklist wraps up with one of my very favourite songs: New Partner by Palace Music. Always a good sign.

the tracklists

For CD Swap 2, I was initially going to make one tracklist for everyone. But when I got my list of people I decided to make 3 different ones. The main inspiration for this was that one of my people was born in 1990. Yes 1990! How old did I feel? Pretty damn old. But after my initial crisis, I got really really excited about making a CD for her. I mean (as I wrote to her) I love music now, but when I was 15 music was a matter of survival.

This was my opportunity (no, my duty) to help this girl through teenage-ness. It’s a total gamble making a CD for someone you don’t know. I had no idea with any of my CDs if what I was sending was going to be their kind of sound. But I decided to start with the bands that were my favourites.

CDCover_SurvivalA Matter of Survival (for jenny)

O stella- PJ Harvey: I first discovered PJ on late night video clips, dancing around in a giant ugly pair of baggy white undies in 50 Foot Queenie. Damn she is one of the most individual women I can think of.
Berlin Chair - You Am I: You Am I are an Australian band. When I turned 18 they were the first band I went to see.
Buy Me A Pony – Spiderbait: Another Australian band who have been rocking on since I was a teenager, and still are.
Paco Doesn't Love Me - The Spazzys: The Spazzys are also Australian. A new group of young punky chicks. I love this song. I makes me want to dance like a muppet. Although unfortunately just this morning I saw their new clip, (a remake of My Boyfriend’s Back). The clip was one of those “o-so-original” party on a city rooftop jobs, with them playing to a crowd of people dancing with arms in the air. I’m sorry to say it was pretty lame. Hopefully they’ll come back with something cool to make up for it.
Dimension - Wolfmother: Wolfmother have been around for about 18 months. A Sydney based band who were hyped pretty highly after only making an ep of 4 songs. They are just amazing live, so if you get a chance, see them. They are currently in America making their first full length CD.
Sonic Youth - Titanium Expose: Sonic Youth were important and really cool, and I felt it my duty to pass them on to Jenny.
Where Is My Mind? – Pixies: The Pixies are one of my favourite bands. They didn’t last long, but what they left us was amazing. When I hear their songs they make me happy.
Born Again - Badly Drawn Boy: This Manchester lad is so cocky, but talented.
Driver - Eskimo Joe: From the west coast of Australia, they are nice guys, and his voice has that sexy breaking point.
Mascara- Killing Heidi
: This song came out about 5 years ago (maybe), a group (with brother and sister) from rural Australia, who were discovered by a radio station.
Special Ones – George: Another Australian group with brother and sister. The brother was annoying, but the sister was gorgeous.
All Coming Back - Sarah Blasko: Sarah Blasko has only just released her debut album. Australian again, with a good accent.
The Pixies - Wave of Mutilation: This song is from the Pump Up The Volume soundtrack. I saw that movie at the cinema when I was about 15. I was the perfect age for this movie, and the soundtrack changed me forever.
Cross Bones Style - Cat Power: Cat Power is an odd little thing, if you get to see her live, count yourself lucky. Both because she’s great, and because half the time she’s too timid to come out on stage. (or she sits on stage with the lights off sitting on a stool facing the back of the stage).
I Don't Need a Hero - Concrete Blonde: Concrete Blond were a pivotal band for me. I love love love her voice.
Papa Won't Leave You, Henry - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: Okay, so if there was any band that got me through my teen years, these guys were it. They are still amazing, and still going strong. Unfortunately and purely coincidently, every single time my mum came into my bedroom “the Carny” was playing. She acused me of only ever listening to “funeral music”.
Concrete Blonde - Everybody Knows: Again from the Pump Up The Volume Soundtrack.
Never Get Old - Sinéad O´Connor: Love her or hate her (she’s a little bit unstable shall we say). I am obsessed with Sinead O’Connor. There, I’ve said it! Anyway, it was a gamble, but I thought it was worth sharing her.

The CD I made to send to people in America is a mix of stuff I’m listening to now, stuff I’ve been listening to over the past few years and lots of local stuff. I’m curious to know if any of the Australian stuff has made it that far yet. Let me know…

CDCover_Trans1Transmittance one (for Vanessa, Kristi and Ryan)

Like Eating Glass - Bloc Party
Obstacle 1 – Interpol
Neighborhood #2 (Laika) - The Arcade Fire
Adam's Ribs - You Am I (Australian)
Paco Doesn't Love Me - The Spazzys (Australian)
Buy Me A Pony – Spiderbait (Australian)
Something's Gotta Give - John Butler Trio (Australian - John Butler is actually from California, but he lives here now, and his band are from here. So we’ve claimed him.)
Some Cities - Doves
Light Pollution - Bright Eyes
Don't U Eva - Sarah Blasko (Australian)
Wake Up - Eskimo Joe (Australian)
Woman – Wolfmother (Australian – This song is a bit tongue in cheek, and makes me laugh.)

This Life - Martha Wainwright
All for Believing - Missy Higgins
(Australian)
I Know Y'Know I Know - Tex Perkins (Australian)
I'm Going To Stop Pretending That I Didn't Break Your Heart – Eels

I also had a fellow Australian on my list, so his CD was a customised version of the US version, but I took out the local music as he’s already heard it all, and replaced it with other stuff to make his very own mix.

CDCover_Trans2Transmittance two (for Luke)

2nd CD in today!

Yeay! Today in my letterbox was my second CD from CD Swap 2 from Marianne at 12punt3. This one comes all the way from the Netherlands.

SummerPlaytimeOkay, now this is getting serious, check out the design job on THIS ONE!!! It's amazing, even the print on gloss is spiffy.

The tracklist is totally smooth, and some might even say a little bit sexy... It includes some of my fav's like Badly Drawn Boy, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Moloko and Manu Chao. And there's some unfamiliar stuff too, but like I said it's all very smooth, and I was in just the right mood to listen to it tonight.

Thank-you Marianne!

Speaking of "a little bit sexy", I took my Knitterista button out to see Interpol the other night. They were really great! Very very clean sound and immense light show - a bit like watching a video clip it was that slick (though there were moments I couldn't help but laugh at the base players moves). Both my button and I loved it. Maybe it was a fantasy but I'm pretty sure the lead singer couldn't take his eyes off my cool Knitterista button either!

music music music

FlossysCDs1 I've finally finished my CDs for CD Swap 2.

I'll be posting them out today to 5 folks across Australia and America. I don't want to give too much away just yet because that'd spoil the surprise for them. But I'll post more detail with the all important tracklists next week.

I ended up deciding to make 3 different CD tracklists once I got my list of people, because of age and location. I didn't want to bombard the Australian on my list with local music, like I did for the American people. And there's another CD that I made especially for one person... I'll explain why later.

I've used my photos in the cover designs, but I don't have one of those nifty lable makers, so the actual discs are a bit naff. But the music will make up for it, right?

first off the ranks

Eeeeeeeeeee! I'm so excited. I just got my first CD from CD Swap 2 from Erin the Knitterista.

KnitteristaCD_front
It came packaged in a way that made me a bit embarrassed about the amount of planning and effort I've put into my CDs. It's got a fancy CD face print which matches the front cover, AND comes with a matching motif button (which I'll definitely be wearing out tomorrow). It had stickers on the front of the package and a little note from Erin on the back of an oversized Fruits postcard.

KnitteristaCD_inside
Okay, a bit too much description... Can you tell I'm excited? I haven't even listened to the CD yet, but needless to say I'm excited about that too.

I'd better pull my finger out. I haven't sent my CDs yet, but I picked the covers up from the printer today, and my playlists have been perfected. Just a few finishing touches and the actual posting to go now. It's all been great fun, stay posted.
